Players start with a blank box (it can be a a cereal box covered with plain paper), and a set of markers. The object of the game is to summarize the traits of a product or service, such as what it does, how it benefits someone, etc. – within the limited space of the box’s surface.
Product Box forces players to get to the heart of the values that a product or service provides. With limited space, they must be sparing in their choice of details. They also have to be thoughtful in their wording: what statements best evoke the reasons why someone might want to use the product or service?
Product Box players usually preserve the boxes they create. The box provides a point of reference for everyone involved in creating, selling, or supporting the product or service.
